Typical Responsibilities: As a Journeyman Lineman, your mission will be to build, operate and maintain overhead and underground electric distribution and/or transmission systems, with a wide range of voltage, including: overhead pole lines, underground cabling, equipment and apparatus, metering, wire stringing, insulator washing, transformation and secondary services.

Compensation: Currently, qualified Journeyman Lineman start at $40.42 per hour and enjoy a 3% increase after 6 months, taking the hourly rate to about $41.60. We also have our Results Sharing Bonus Plan that can pay you a bonus of up to 6% of your annual gross. Also, relocation assistance may be provided for you.

Perform the proper cable splicing techniques, procedures, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The proper use, care, and storage of tools. Perform specified safety precautions in operation of cable installation equipment. Ability to identify cables, cable pairs, fiber optic strands. Test cables for problems by standard test methods. Handle cables to avoid damage, metallic and fiber optics. Read circuit diagrams, detail splice diagrams, cable route maps, and symbols commonly used in cable communications practices. Work comfortable in elevated places as well as underground structures.

Qualifications: Fundamental knowledge of electricity as related to installation and maintenance of communication cables and related equipment, and common tools used in performing the indicative duties listed above. Must have at least one year experience performing as a journeyman. Assisting in the disassembly of airframe, engine, and other components on planned maintenance schedule or determining the cause of malfunction and overhauling/repairing/replacing parts as required in maintaining aircraft in an airworthy condition. Preferred Skills: Two to five years experience in the aircraft maintenance and repair of McDonnell Douglas 500 series, American Eurocopter AStar helicopters and EC135 Helicopters or similar aircraft.
