Basic Qualifications: Must meet one of the following criteria: 1. Certificate from an American Bar Association accredited paralegal program, 2. Associate or Bachelor Degree in Paralegal Studies, 3. Bachelor's or higher Degree, plus one year of law related experience under an attorney's supervision, 4. Otherwise meet the education and experience criteria specified in the California Business and Professions Code Section 6450(c). Core Competencies: - Typically possess a minimum of three years experience performing legal research or comparable substantive tasks of a legal nature and related duties in a private law firm or corporate law department. - Demonstrated experience researching, analyzing and developing legal concepts and information, drawing conclusions, and solutions for moderate to complex problems. - Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the principles of judicial and administrative process, legal research procedures and use of law library, and the procedures for federal and state courts. - Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with government, administrative, or regulatory agencies. - Demonstrated experience communicating and interpreting legal terminology. - Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects concurrently. - Demonstrated experience using online research services (e.g., Lexis, Nexis, WestLaw) to perform factual investigations and moderate to complex legal research. - Demonstrated experience completing projects with tight deadlines, effectively managing work under high pressure situations, and making work flow adjustments to meet changing conditions and priorities. - Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. - Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. - Must demonstrate effective decision making, results delivery, team building, and willingness to stay current with relevant technology and innovation. - Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal assistance to attorneys in regulatory practice areas by conducting legal research and analyzing legal sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, legal codes or agreements. Typical responsibilities (under the direction of an attorney) will include: interpreting data, developing alternatives, and presenting findings and recommendations; resolving routine legal issues; assisting with the briefing of court cases and proceedings before administrative agencies (e.g., CPUC, CEC, Regional Boards, etc.); drafting memoranda, correspondence, pleadings, and responses for discovery matters, or other documents as required; interfacing with personnel in other departments, and with external third parties, to gather information pertaining to legal assessments and issues; conducting factual and legal investigations; coordinating matters with outside counsel and opposing parties; managing moderate to heavy caseloads; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: Must have experience leading e-discovery and/or litigation support teams. Core Competencies: - Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Typically possesses a minimum of five years experience managing and implementing litigation support technologies such as, but not limited to, Encase Forensics and Clearwell. - Typically possesses a minimum of two years of supervisory or project management experience. - Demonstrated experience managing and directing cross-functional teams. - Demonstrated experience developing project plans for discovery projects to be in compliance with the state and federal court rules, especially pertaining to electronic discovery requirements. - Demonstrated experience promoting and implementing the procedures for use of litigation specific technologies and protocols for electronic discovery. - Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM). - Demonstrated experience developing medium to long range strategies to manage complex discovery issues. - Demonstrated experience accurately analyzing information and making strategic decisions regarding project scope, impact, policy, development, and implementation. - Demonstrated experience leading practice support functions for a Law Department which includes an electronic discovery support team and related litigation support operations. - Demonstrated experience collaborating with legal and technology professionals to meet the demands of electronic discovery projects. - Demonstrated experience coordinating people and technology resources, assembling project teams, identifying and assigning resources, and determining project scope and deliverables. - Demonstrated experience evaluating and managing vendor services for litigation support (e.g., data capture, data conversion, image scanning services, and Lotus Notes databases, etc.). - Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the amended Federal and State Rules of Civil Procedure. - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to appropriately identify and respond to client's business needs, and facilitate the presentation of recommendations. - Must demonstrate the ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in. - Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and accountability for results. - Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Adobe. - Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. - Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation. - Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a Program/Project Manager responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness, and excellence of legal applications within the Law Department. Typical responsibilities will include: Providing a single point of contact for Attorneys, the Paralegal Manager, and Corporate IT for assigned discovery and e-discovery matters along with providing support for various Law projects; identifying and coordinating assignments of internal resources and external contractors, if necessary, to meet project requirements; identifying models for development and improvements required to achieve efficient productivity from all venues of the organization; supporting the Legal Organization's Technology Upgrade Program which is currently in progress and adhering to very tight timeline; analyzing business processes to ensure the most efficient and progressive methodologies are utilized to support the Legal Organization with regards to e-Discovery systems and workflow with a goal of reducing outside counsel expenses while ensuring data integrity; providing direction and project/product scope/development of e-Discovery system to both internal and external IT resources; developing medium to long range strategies to manage complex discovery issues and providing long-term management/quality control for both internal and external processes/procedures and providing training development and support to internal staff; providing functional guidance and support related to gathering and preserving electronic data for litigation proceedings and internal investigations; collaborating with legal and technology professionals to meet the demands of electronic discovery projects; promoting and enforcing the procedures for use of litigation specific technologies and protocols for electronic discovery, such as Encase Forensics or Clearwell; evaluating and managing vendor services for litigation support (e.g., data capture, data conversion, image scanning services, and Lotus Notes databases, etc.); managing and directing cross-functional teams; performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
